You should use our primary logo for:
- University-level business
- activities for which the University as a whole is accountable
You can use an official secondary logo for communications from your unit.
Secondary logos
We offer a selection of secondary logos. The level to which you can develop a secondary logo depends on the type of unit you are.
Typographical logo lock up
A typographical logo lock up combines the University logo with the name of your unit. You can request one if you are a:
- wholly owned subsidiary company
- institution
- school
- faculty
- department
Graphical logo lock up
A graphical logo lock up combines the University logo with the name and logo of your unit. You can request one if you are a:
- University approved research institute or centre
- commercial entity
- visitor attraction
Internal and non-academic use
Internal and non-academic service divisions should not develop customised or subsidiary logos. You can use the primary University logo in promotional materials and support it with:
- imagery
- language
- messaging
Events and short-term use logos
We can create a short-term badge to mark special occasions like:
- core institutional initiatives
- anniversaries
Additional logos
As our organisation evolves, our brand must do so alongside it. While our logo is unchanged in most circumstances, there are times when it needs to flex for different audiences or applications. Currently approved additional logos include:
- Cambridge University Press & Assessment (CUP&A)
- Cambridge Enterprise
- Classic logo for branded merchandise
- Cambridge University Polo Club Japan
- University of Cambridge Sport
- Cambridge University Nanjing Centre
Custom logos
To maintain the strength of our visual identity, we restrict the creation of custom logos. You can request one if you believe you have a strong and exceptional business need. We will review your request and respond to you as appropriate.
