The Cambridge logo and coat of arms are registered trademarks. We have strict control processes in place for when and how the logo may, and may not, be used. These are essential to prevent the trademarks being revoked.

You may need to request permission if you want to use the logo. The process you must follow will depend on who you are and how you plan to use the logo.

Staff and students

We have outlined the ways that staff and students may use the logo. You must request permission if you plan to use the logo in any way that is not outlined.

Third parties and external organisations

You must request permission to use our logo. You may only use it if we grant you a licence to do so.

To use our logo, you must complete the permission request form (Word document, 123kB). You must return this to your contact at the University.

Usage requests are assessed individually. We differentiate between external providers with purely commercial products and those whose work is focused on supporting the work of our global academic community and the quality of the higher education offer.

University staff working with external organisations

If you are a University staff member working with an external organisation, you may request permission for them to use the logo.
