A couple who met at Downing as undergraduates are supporting their College’s outreach work in the South West of England. 

Forty students from Cornwall, Devon and Dorset have been enjoying a taste of Cambridge life thanks to Downing College’s 15th Annual South West Open Day.

What’s it like to be a student at Cambridge? Every year Pembroke and St Catharine’s Colleges organise a three-day Easter Residential Science Masterclass for students from schools across East Anglia, the East Midlands and London. This year, for the first time, participants were invited to share their experiences in a diary-writing competition.

Carly Walsh is the Access Officer for St John’s College. As part of the Cambridge University Area Links scheme, each College is responsible for developing good relationships with local schools in particular areas.
