Enterprise Tuesday is a series of free evening lectures and networking sessions run by the Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning (CfEL), part of Judge Business School, University of Cambridge, from October to February. The aim is to inspire people to pursue entrepreneurial ambitions and build basic business skills. CfEL’s Enterprise Tuesday is a major focus on entrepreneurship for the University demonstrating the application of learning to solve problems and create businesses. It is also coordinated with the Cambridge University Entrepreneurs (CUE) business creation competitions.
The series has an impressive line-up of speakers including Kell Ryan, Founding Member of Ryanair; David Cleevely, Founder of Analysys; Sir Greg Winter FRS, Co-Founder of Cambridge Antibody Technology; Neil Davidson, Co-Founder of Redgate Software and Warren East, CEO, ARM Ltd.
The main venue for the 2009/2010 series is the University of Cambridge's Department of Engineering (LT0)
This year, Enterprise Tuesday attendees have the chance to participate in the ‘Silicon Valley Comes to Cambridge’ programme with a special debate: “ This house believes that bailing out the banks was a waste of money.” The debate, sponsored by BDO Stoy Hayward, is on 19th Nov 2009 at the famous Cambridge Union Society with guest speakers Reid Hoffman, Executive Chairman and a Co-Founder of LinkedIn, a business-oriented social networking site; Jonathan Kestenbaum, Chief Executive of The National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts (NESTA); Dr William H Janeway, senior adviser at Warbug Pincus and Prof Andrew Gamble, Head of Department of Political and International Studies in Cambridge.
In addition, CfEL is running a special networking event on 2nd February 2010 at Judge Business School with over 20 entrepreneurs, experts and practitioners - a great opportunity for attendees to discuss business ideas and ask for advice on specific issues. The full list of these experts will be published on the web site nearer the time so check regularly for updates.
Plus, CfEL is introducing the opportunity to participate in a two-day Business Link Boot Camp in Hatfield, Hertfordshire for those delegates who have attended at least 8 of the Enterprise Tuesday sessions during 2009/2010. It will be an intensive two-day workshop with a team of 40 information advisors and is aimed at anyone looking to accelerate the start up of their own business.
Registration is free via the online application form and you only need to register once for the whole series. For further information and to register, please visit the CfEL web site at www.cfel.jbs.cam.ac.uk. Alternatively, please email the team at enterprisetuesday@jbs.cam.ac.uk
