Two Cambridge academics have been recognised in the Queen’s New Year Honours list.
Professor Peter Nolan, Sinyi Professor of Chinese Management at the Judge Business School, is made a CBE for ‘services to supporting British business in China and China’s integration into the global economy’.
Commenting on the CBE, he said: “I am very gratified, especially by the terms of the citation, which are very meaningful to me.”
Professor Marcial Echenique, Head of the Department of Architecture and Professor of Land Use and Transport Studies, is made an OBE for ‘services to Urban and Regional Planning’
His research explores how major cities can be planned to be socially inclusive, environmentally sustainable and economically efficient. He has helped to shape recent building developments in Cambridge, such as Clay Farm and the Marshall Aerospace site at Cambridge Airport.
