Wolfson College has stepped up preparations for its role in the University's 800th fundraising campaign with the appointment of its first Development Director.
Karen Stephenson, who joined Wolfson from St Catharine's College on Monday will also take up a Fellowship at the College.
Formerly Assistant Development Director at St Catharine's, Karen is looking forward to the prospect of working at Wolfson.
She said: “I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to take on the role of Wolfson's first Development Director.
“At this important stage in the history of the College, this new position represents an exciting challenge and I very much look forward to working with the President, Fellows and members to help build for the future of Wolfson."
Karen was heavily involved in fundraising and alumni relations at St Catharine's over the last five years.
Prior to joining the College, she spent ten years working for an investment bank in the City of London.
She then joined Lucy Cavendish and completed a BA in English as a mature undergraduate, followed by a PGCE teaching qualification at Homerton College.
Wolfson College President Gordon Johnson said: “This marks an important step for the College in its progress towards playing a full part in the University's 800th anniversary fundraising campaign for Collegiate Cambridge.
“We welcome Karen to the College and look forward to giving her our full support as she takes on this new role.”
