Varsity sport moves to the Thames this Sunday 2 April with two keenly-anticipated contests between the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge.

The Varsity Football Match returns to Craven Cottage in 2006. Home to Fulham FC, the stadium is on the Middlesex bank of the Thames less than a mile up from the start of the Boat Race.

The 122nd Varsity Football Match kicks off at 1pm. Tickets are £10, available from the Fulham website or on the door. The price includes a programme and a seat, and a position on the riverside terrace to watch the Boat Race pass after the Match, with a wide screen to see the rest of the Race.

The 152nd Boat Race, over the gruelling Tideway course, is due to start at 4.35pm.

This year's Oxford crew will feature Bastien Ripoll, who until recently was thought to be the first Frenchman to row in The Race - although records for Cambridge in 1849 are currently being checked as there may have been a Frenchman in this crew.

Cambridge will not only field several German world and international medallists but also Olympic gold medallist Kieran West who returns to the Light Blues after a gap of five years.

Cambridge lead the series by 78-72 since 1829.
