Visitors of all ages will be welcomed tomorrow to a second Science on Saturday, with hands-on activities, talks and demonstrations at the Centre for Mathematical Sciences, Physics, Astronomy and Churchill College among many other venues.

Following the popularity of last week's Science on Saturday at the start of the Cambridge Science Festival, nine more venues will open their doors on Saturday March 25.

The Centre for Mathematical Sciences will run its Hands-on Maths Fair from 10am to 4pm, offering another chance to get involved with games and puzzles for all ages, from giant dominoes to the fiendish Auntie’s Teacups.

The Open Day at Physics, at the Cavendish Laboratory, will run from 2pm to 5pm. Visitors can participate in popular demonstrations of physics in action, as well as see a Planetarium and experiments from Lab-in-a-Lorry.

The Institute of Astronomy will open its doors between 4.30pm and 9pm, providing the chance to meet researchers, hear talks for children and adults alike, participate in hands-on experiments and view the night sky through historic telescopes.

There will be a special free partial Citi 4 bus service between Cambridge city centre and the West Cambridge sites, providing access to Physics, Maths, Astronomy and Churchill College. The first bus will depart from Madingley Road Park & Ride at 13.00 and the last bus will depart from Trumpington Street at 18.00. Buses will run every 15 minutes. The Park & Ride service will also run as normal, with the last bus leaving the City Centre at 8pm.

Science on Saturday events at Addenbrooke's include the Hutchison/MRC Research Centre offering an open day on cancer research, and the MRC Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit. On Sunday 26 March events take place at Kettle’s Yard and the Museum of Technology. These will be the final events during the Cambridge Science Festival 2006.
