The ninth annual Enterprise Tuesday series of lectures and workshops with some of the world’s most renowned entrepreneurs launched last Tuesday in Cambridge.

Managed and delivered by the Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning (CfEL) based at Judge Business School, each Enterprise Tuesday focuses on a specific element of how to turn an entrepreneurial concept into a reality.

They cover such subjects as motivation, recognizing opportunities, advice on how to pitch ideas, building a dream team, matching business ideas with sources of funding and understanding why mistakes happen and how they can be turned into opportunities.

The aim is to introduce participants to the world of business, as well as to encourage and inspire individuals to pursue their entrepreneurial ambition.

The line up of speakers reads like a Who’s Who of the entrepreneurial world, with Enterprise Tuesday favourites such as Lord Bilimoria CBE DL, Founder of Cobra Beer, and Dr Herman Hauser CBE, serial entrepreneur and co-founder of Amadeus Capital Partners Ltd, being joined by relative newcomers such as Eric Baker, Founder and CEO of Viagogo, Shaa Wasmund, CEO of Brightstation Ventures and Dr Michael Lynch of Autonomy.

Dr Shai Vyakarnam, Director of the Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning, commented: “Anyone who takes part in Enterprise Tuesday will benefit from an outstanding schedule of guest speakers, access to the local entrepreneurial network and a wealth of talent and networking opportunities. We hope the programme will inspire, build skills and spread the spirit of enterprise within the University of Cambridge and beyond.”

This is the ninth year that the centre has run this series of free evening lectures and networking sessions which take place during the months of October and November and recommencing in January and February.

Enterprise Tuesday evenings are open to all Cambridge University staff and students, other universities and members of the high tech business community and forms part of the entrepreneurial elective on the Cambridge MBA degree.

The 2008/09 Enterprise Tuesday series is supported by a number of sponsors. Business Link and Grant Thornton have agreed to be the key sponsors of the programme and additional support is being provided by Mintz Levin, Laurea University (Finland), Cobra Beer and the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM).
