A University of Cambridge academic has won the Prix Philippe Habert for the best piece of writing on political science in 2005 by a young researcher.

Dr Emile Perreau-Saussine, from the Faculty of Social & Political Sciences, won the award for his book on the modern ethicist and moral philosopher Alasdair MacIntyre, ‘Alasdair MacIntyre, une biographie intellectuelle. Introduction aux critiques contemporaines du liberalisme’ (Paris, Presse Universitaires de France). [The book’s English title is ‘Alasdair MacIntyre’s Intellectual Journey. An Introduction to Contemporary Critiques of Liberalism’.]

The Prix Philippe Habert is sponsored by the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris and Le Figaro newspaper.

Dr Perreau-Saussine will be presented with his award tomorrow (30 March) in Paris by Madame Jacques Chirac.
