A major fundraising event will be held at King's College Chapel, Cambridge on Thursday 27 September 2001. The Cambridge Concert for Cancer will feature the world-famous singer Cecilia Bartoli and the Academy of Ancient Music, conducted by its founder Christopher Hogwood.
The concert will be a celebration of the work of Mozart and the planned programme includes the Motet 'Exultate, jubilate' K165 and 'Parto, parto' from La Clemenza di Tito K621.
Anthony Ogden, Special Appeal Manager for the Cancer Research Campaign, says the concert is very much a Cambridge event:
"We are offering concessions to students and pensioners and we are very keen that as many students as possible are able to enjoy this unique opportunity to hear Cecilia Bartoli in the glorious surroundings of King's College Chapel."
Tickets are available at £150 and £15 (£10 concessions).
The £150 ticket includes a seat in the main body of the chapel (the Antechapel) and dinner in King's or Trinity College. These tickets are almost sold out.
The £15 ticket is for a seat for the concert only in the choir area of the chapel (with no sight of the performers).
£15/10 tickets may be reserved by phoning the Cambridge Arts Theatre Booking Office on 01223 503333.
