Champion racehorse trainer, Henry Cecil, is supporting cancer research at the Department of Pathology, with a personal breakfast invitation, to his Warren Place stables in Newmarket. The lucky winner will also be taken on a tour and out to the gallops.

Racing enthusiasts are invited to bid for this exclusive opportunity to meet one of the UK’s most loved race-horse trainers. Henry has had over 350 winners and been UK Champion Trainer ten-times. All money raised will go to Campod (Cambridge Fund for the Prevention of Disease) a charity based in the Department of Pathology.

“We are thrilled that Henry is supporting us in this way and hope that all racing enthusiasts will be generous with their bids. We have over forty research groups in the Department of Pathology with many working on various cancers. Campod provides them with high-tech equipment to enable them to do this important research” says Jane Rich, Campod Fundraising Co-ordinator.

Bids can be placed on the Campod website www.path.cam.ac.uk/campod/news-events. The deadline for accepting bids will be 12 noon on Wednesday 17th June, with the exception of those playing at the Golf Day.

The winner will be announced at the Annual Campod Golf Challenge which takes place at the Gog Magog Golf Course on Thursday 18 June 2009. There are some team places available, to enter contact Jane Rich 01223 330291.
