A leadership programme designed for senior women working at the University of Cambridge and BP takes place in Cambridge 20 to 23 March. The ’‘Women in Leadership Programme’ is a unique collaboration between New Hall and BP and is run by the University of Cambridge Programme for Industry (CPI).

Now in its third year, the programme offers an opportunity for women to look at the challenges faced by women leaders operating in a global context. It is open to any women working in a senior position within the University or BP. (They may lead a team, a functional area or a business unit, or be at the leading edge of innovation where personal confidence and influence is essential.)

The programme explores what leadership means for the individual, as well as ways that the organisation and the individual both contribute to society. Working within a supportive environment of a select group of 30 people based at Buckingham House, New Hall, a key element of the programme is engaging in structured reflection on the opportunities and obstacles presented by gender in a leadership context.

A variety of learning opportunities are involved, from plenary sessions, syndicate groups and workshops, to symposia and debate sessions. Contributors include specialists from the fields of leadership and gender, as well as exceptional women whose achievements can provide inspiration, and stimulate debate and reflection.

The programme takes place at Buckingham House, New Hall. There is no cost for Cambridge delegates; the programme is fully sponsored by BP.
