The Queen Mother: a friend remembered
02 April 2002Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, died on Saturday 30 March 2002 at the age of 101. The University of Cambridge's Vice Chancellor, Professor Sir Alec Broers, paid tribute to her: "A dear friend of the University, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, will be sadly missed. Her contributions were much valued and we send our sincere condolences to her family".
